OT Websites and Blogs List by Therapy Fun Zone
Over the years, there has developed many great OT blogs and websites with extensive information on various OT topics (e.g. pediatric therapy, geriatric therapy, hand therapy, assistive technology, hippotherapy, feeding, sensory play + more). Recently, Therapy Fun Zone created a list of many of these resources, two of which are the OT in Egypt blog and Child Development Club blog!

The Learning Resource Center has an OT vacancy
The Learning Resource Center (LRC) was chartered September 1996, and since then, has been providing diagnostic and consultative services for children of all ages who have a broad range of learning difficulties, developmental disorders and/or behavior problems. A range of specialists provide services at the LRC including psychologists, behavior therapists, speech and language pathologists, occupational and physical therapists, educational specialists, and consulting physicians. We provide assessments, consultations, specialized therapies, and in-service training for schools and/or parents. We also provide support to families in accepting and dealing with their child's difficulties.
Occupational Therapist Position: OT’s responsibilities are evaluating and treating clients, as well as collaborating with other professionals in order to provide an effective program. This includes documenting, working with developmental specialist staff, attending staff meetings, providing and attending in-service training, participating in professional development, mentorship of junior clinicians and other duties as assigned by supervisors. OT’s may be assigned other duties by the Head of Sensory-Motor Dept.
Full-time (40 hours/ week) position) + Minimum requirements for clinical positions are a bachelor's degree, two years experience, and clinical licensure or certification.

As April is OT Awareness Month, I will be sharing some OT updates these next few weeks.
I am pleased to say a new school for children with special needs will be opening for September, 2014 enrollment. The school is looking to hire a pediatric occupational therapist, please see details:
Position: Pediatric Occupational Therapist
Job: A full time occupational therapist position is now available at a newly opened special needs school
in Cairo, Egypt. The school will follow an American curriculum and offer an American diploma. OT needs
to provide a comprehensive range of services to a varied population. Students ages range from 3-18
years old and children have a wide range of diagnosis, such as Autism, CP, Down syndrome, Sensory
Processing Disorder and Learning Disabilities
Minimum requirements include:
• Graduate of an accredited OT program ( Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree)
• 3-5 years experience working in pediatric setting
• Supervisory experience a plus
• Current license
Job duties include:
• Evaluate all students and develop appropriate treatment plan
• Treat students in 1:1 and/or group setting
• Educate teachers in OT recommendations to implement in the classroom
• Participate in staff and parent meetings
Benefits package includes:
• Salary based on experience + accommodations + travel allowance (one round trip ticket) + basic
health insurance
Position available: August 1, 2014
Position length of contract: 2 years
